Flashback Friday - Nathan on His Wheels

This week, Nathan learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. We have had a small bike in the garage for a year. He tried last summer to ride without training wheels, but he didn't have the perseverance. He worked at it for 5 minutes and gave up.

On Tuesday, he initiated and asked Elbert to pump up the tires for him. He took the bike out and practiced for about 30 minutes. At the end of that time, he could ride down the driveway and to the end of our circle. The next day, he learned how to turn and could ride back up the driveway. He's been outside every day working on it. He's really confident now.

It was fun to see him so proud of himself. He's been beaming all week! He can't wait to go for a bike ride with Mom or Dad.

This is Nathan 3 years ago at the age of 2 1/2. He loved that tricycle!

Here he is at 3 1/2 on his Superman bike. He still has that bike. We'll take the training wheels of it when he gets more comfortable. It's a much larger bike and will take extra balance.
Look how small Andrew is! He's about Evan's age in this picture.

Nathan on Tuesday at age 5 1/2.
Check out the concentration...
